Stone Pony closes for repairs - and Live Nation sends most of their biz to the Wonder Bar.

It was announced today that The Stone Pony will be temporarily closing to undergo roof maintenance and repair.

William Gray, the city's director of code enforcement, said today that owners Madison Marquette closed the club voluntarily to do renovation work.

"They've reported to us that they had severe roof leaks, are investigating it, and that's why it's closed,'' Gray said. "They've taken down the dropped ceiling. The timing will depend on what the remediation is.''

Cool New Facebook Group - NJHC Reunion - Jersey Shore

There's a brand new Facebook group that celebrates the New Jersey Hardcore / Punk Scene (1980's-1990's),
It has lots of cool photos, including fliers from when The Hot Dog House was a venue, and Asbury Park held way more then 3 shows simultaneously.

The group has been created to remember and celebrate the people and places of the NJ shore HC/punk scene as it was during the 80's to early 90's.

How can The Wave Gathering be made better in 2009?

I think the Wave Gathering could use an overhaul, and be made into a much bigger, centralized event then it has been in previous years.
I've been to many similar festivals, ranging from many SXSW's, to the Siren festival in Coney Island, to spending years working on the European festival circuit which blows away anything we've ever done in America.
Personally, I'd like to see the WAVE move out of the clubs into one, centralized location, like a big outdoor festival.
