Hello,
I'll be straight to the point. One of the artists associated with AERIA Records - Metamorphosis has recently suffered a serious medical emergency. He's currently out of work and without medical insurance, so you can imagine the pain, fear, stress, and anxiety he's experiencing tonight alone in his hospital room. He's a born and bred Jersey Shore native who grew up in Neptune. He is also an incredibly talented rap artist, wordsmith, and singer.
If you can spare a few dollars, an easy way…

Hey everyone, how is it going? This is Hector here, the drummer. I am just letting everyone know that our EP "Gone", released on Aeria Records has finally made it's way onto Itunes and its ready for purchase. I am guessing everyone has Itunes, so all you have to do is just go and type in "Lost In Society" and it should come up.
If by some reason that doesn't work just go to our myspace page, www.myspace.com/lostinsociety123, under discography and click the little link that says "Itunes" and tha…

(ASBURY PARK, NJ – JUNE 19-21, 2009) – The fourth annual Wave Gathering music festival took place in Asbury Park during one of the wettest Junes in memory. The festival got off to a good start on Friday night thanks to a break in the weather, but had to battle the elements through most of the weekend. The rain definitely kept some people away, but couldn't stop another excellent festival from taking place. In many ways, this year's festival was better than any of the previous years.
This was th…

Hello to whoever reads this. I now have been in Asbury Park for 1 year living and 2 years working. Has of the past few months, I have been trying too let go of my "Fuck Jersey, It ain't New York" attitude. And so far......its working. I've been slowly spending more time here and openly giving Asbury a chance. Why not right? I fucking live here. Plus, I'm getting tired of having to take the train every weekend. It runs me about 80 bucks a month that could be used towards my love of sweet, sweet w…

Wow. What a night on Cookman this past Thursday.. It started off sketchy, as we went to observe the tree lighting ceremony at Press Plaza and my son was promptly handed a bag full of promotional garbage including a violent video game from the U.S. Army and a Navy luggage tag featuring the utterly ignorant slogan: "Life, Liberty, And Pursuit Of All Who Threaten It". This is not what I want handed to my 6 year old son when he goes to see a Christmas Tree lighting. Considering that it was April wea…

The Jersey Shore lost one of its Irish legends Saturday morning.
Irish singer-performer Joe Finn, 66, of Avon died at 7:07 a.m. at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, hospital officials said.
He had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, glioblastoma multiforme, over the summer.
"Honestly, he was a great person; he lived a good life," said his son Joe Finn Jr., 37, of Avon. "He was a dear friend to a lot of people and a lot of people we don't even know. He was very strong in his faith, very str…

"It’s dissapointing that local artists don’t get asked to participate in the larger bills that come into town. Especially the bands with a larger fan base. Status Green has been putting up good numbers for quite a while and we’ve never been asked or even able to open for a national act. Live Nation does bring some really good shows into town so that’s a good thing. But it could be great thing for local artists if we could be weaved into the web a little bit. Would it kill them to put one of us o…

On Saturday at the Stone Pony, Colie Brice and the New Age Blues Experience won a 2008 Asbury Park Music Award in the Avant-Guarde category. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who voted for us. I'd also like to thank local experimental artists such as Mike Black and Jon Francis for inspiring me to explore and honor my artistic authenticity and of course all the incredible artists involved with AERIA Records who bravely follow their own muse.
The award was a particular honor considering tha…

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE TRICITY NEWS
Dan,
Re: Cookman Avenue Under Fire!
I agree, you are a pussy for not taking a decisive stand on this issue. I'm suspect that its difficult when choosing between prospective advertisers and the generally poor musicians who may appeal to your heart of hearts and idealism.
Maybe you'll print this and I can take the blame or the credit for some of the things you may really feel. I surely hope so.
There is a certain perversity here when a primary component of As…

I send this to all my fellow Asbury Musicians to inform you that life as we know and love in our haven here on the 700 block of Cookman Ave, (where we harbor our collective musical energy and presence) in Asbury Park is under siege.
I just got out of court after 2 hrs of mediation with my new neighbors over a noise complaint that was filed against me for rehearsing.
I'm sending this out to all of you as a call of action and for ideas to somehow guard our freedom to remain an integral part of Asb…

"Like all cities, Asbury Park experienced growing pains and fell on tough times for a number of years. And while the city's popularity and visitor count declined, the unique entertainment culture that created the city remained. In 1974, the now legendary music club, The Stone Pony, opened its doors for the first time. The Stone Pony helped kick-start the careers of many native New Jersey musicians including Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen to name a few.…
